D. M. Walker-Coleman, M.A., NCAC 1, R.A.S.
Program Director

Ms. Walker-Coleman has been employed at Options for Recovery since early 2001. She has held various counseling positions in the agency prior to being promoted to Director. She is a true believer in recovery and positive change. She strives on teaching women how to reshape their lives. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated. She is dedicated to community service and helping the next generation. Ms. Walker-Coleman has professional experience in television broadcasting and counseling various populations. She enjoys spending time with her grandparents, nephew and husband William.

 
Lynda Sanchez, M.B.A., R.A.S.i
Assistant Program Director

Ms. Sanchez was been working at Options for Recovery since 2003. She brings a wealth of knowledge from the business arena. She has a desire to help women become strong and self-sufficient. She enjoys working with women and children and takes great joy in knowing she has touched some ones heart and journey in a positive way. Lynda enjoys serving the community and making a difference.

Sylvia Becerra, M.P.H., NCAC 1, R.A.S.
Case Management Supervisor

Sylvia is a part of the original staff members hired at Options for Recovery when it was only a pilot project program.  Sylvia has a Bachelor’s Degree in Science and a Master’s Degree in Public Health, specializing in Maternal and child health.  She also attained her Certification in Alcohol and Drug Studies and Counseling from UCLA.  Sylvia is committed to working in perinatal services helping women and children better their lives.   

 
Rowena Mitchell, B.A.
Child Care Supervisor/Facility Manager

Ms. Mitchell has been working at Options for Recovery since June 2001.  She presently has a BA degree in Child Development and an AA degree in Psychology. Ms. Mitchell has been working with children and families for 23 years.  She has a passion for working in the field of Social Services. She is patient, compassion and has a love for helping others.

 
Toni Wallace, M.S., R.A.S.
Clinic Coordinator/Part-Time Counselor

Toni has over 23 years of experience working with Substance Abusing women and their children. She has worked w/ our Executive Director for several years as the Co-Coordinator of OSAM and ISAM Clinics. She has been a member of the Options staff since the program was developed in 1990. In 2004, Ms. Wallace obtained her Masters Degree. She is currently the Clinic Coordinator and an MFT (Intern) at the Stork Club. Toni enjoys crocheting.

  

Becky Senter, B.S., C.A.C., R.A.S.

Intake & Referral Specialist Counselor

Becky Senter is our Intake and Referral Counselor over 18 years experience in 12 Step Recovery. Becky received her Bachelors degree in Human Services and completed the Alcohol and Drug Counseling program at California State University Dominguez Hills. Becky is a Registered Addiction Specialist.

 

Cynthia D. Jacobs, M.S., C.E.A.T., R.A.S.i
Counselor/Educator

Cynthia Jacobs holds a Master’s Degree in Community and Clinical Psychology and has worked extensively in the non-profit arena.  Cynthia has concentrated her clinical work in the areas of domestic violence, substance abuse and creative expression for healing.  Cynthia is a Certified Expressive Arts Therapist and a Registered Addiction Specialist Intern.  Cynthia has 23 years experience working with clients from all walks of life.  Cynthia now brings to Options for Recovery her passion for utilizing creative expressive in the recovery process as well as her vast clinical experience.

 
Nicole Crayon, B.S.W., R.A.S.i
Case Manager

Nicole Crayon comes to Options for Recovery with a background in social work. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from California State University at Los Angeles and is working toward her certification as a Registered Addiction Specialist.  Nicole is presently a case manager and is devoted to serving women and children in the community.  Nicole takes pride in helping the women she serves reunite their families.

 
Martha Vandermark, M.A., R.A.S.i
In-Home Parenting Educator

Martha Vandermark has been employed in the Early Childhood Education field for years. She has experience working with children, infants to 18 year old.  Martha has Bachelor’s Degrees in Theology and Psychology with a minor in Education. She has also completed course work for the Master’s in Counseling Psychology.  She is working toward certification as a Registered Addiction Specialist and Marriage, Family, Therapy. Martha is our In-Home Parenting Educator dedicated to helping women become the best parents they can be to their children.

 

Maria Gallardo
Receptionist

Ms. Gallardo’s goal is to help women and their children with professional, yet empathetic assistance. She continues to learn more about the needs of our women; watching them change and grow is something she has come to appreciate and love. Maria enjoys all facets of her job!

 
Cynthia Torres
Child Care Worker

Ms. Torres has been working at Options for Recovery since March 2003. She has been working with infants, toddlers and school age children for the past 12 years. Cindy has worked in many agencies: Head Start, School Districts and Family day cares. What motivates her to work in this field is having the ability to teach, care for children and make them feel safe.

  

Yvette Gonzalez
Child Care Worker

Ms. Gonzalez has been working at Options for Recovery since January 2009.  She currently has 6 units in Early Childhood Education.  She has been working with children for the past 9 years. What motivates Yvette to work in this field is the honesty and energy that children exhibit.

 

Cynthia Shanderson
Agency Cook

Ms. Shanderson is the cook for Options for Recovery and has been serving our clients since 1991. Cynthia thrives on making a positive difference in the lives of all women in our program. Many of the clients and graduates praise Cynthia for her support and listening ear. Ms. Shanderson enjoys cooking and serving the women and children of Options for Recovery. On her spare time she enjoys cooking and gardening she has a green thumb.
