
M. Lynn Yonekura, M.D.

Dr. Margaret Lynn Yonekura is the Executive Director for Stork Club/Options for Recovery. Dr. Yonekura founded the agency as a pilot project in 1990 during the Cocaine Epidemic. When she created Stork Club/Options for Recovery; her vision was to have a place where women and children exposed to drugs and/or alcohol could get the resources, support and care they needed. Hence, she created two clinics, OSAM and ISAM both located at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. These clinics were created to assess and monitor the health needs of women and children exposed to drugs and/or alcohol; in addition the Stork Club; an intensive outpatient drug/alcohol treatment program to educate and treat parenting and pregnant women. Throughout her career, Dr. Yonekura has been actively involved in efforts to improve services for women and children in Los Angles County for over 25 years. She has used medicine as a tool for social change and has continued to help others to help themselves and their families break the cycle of poverty and addiction.
Dr. Yonekura also holds several other leadership positions that include; Executive Director of LA Best Babies Network, an organization dedicated to improving pregnancy and birth outcomes in Los Angeles County. Over the course of her career, Dr. Yonekura has received numerous awards for teaching excellence and has been recognized at the local, state and national levels for her service to the community and for the programs that she directs. She also serves on numerous councils and committees through out California.
